OUr Mission

Readers on Wheels Inc. is a mobile 501(c)(3) non- profit literacy organization promoting a safe, welcoming environment for reading by providing educational books to Escambia County's School District children in low-income communities.

Our Vision

We are devoted to support children growing up in poverty to reach their fullest potential by encouraging a love for reading. With our book mobile, we travel to low-income communities to donate educational books and rich literature to underserviced children in Escambia County.

Poverty can be the greatest threat to a child's future.

Readers on Wheels Inc. targets Escambia County's families that have 19% or more of the household with children living below the poverty line. Data collected from Studer Community Institute, the median income of our target area is $22,835.

Our Target Communities are children who attend:

  • Brentwood Elementary School

  • Montclair Elementary School

  • Oakcrest Elementary School

  • Holm Elementary School

  • C.A. Weis Elementary School
